Andrei Troshkov – “Russian Villages”
Andrei Troshkov began painting pysanki, the Slavik word for “writing” and the term used for a technique of creating ornamental eggs, at the age of 23. Treshkov considered the egg a secular object upon which he abandoned political, religious and technological metaphors by observing the traditions of village life.
We introduced you to Better World Books, a non-profit literacy program, back in September’s Newsletter. Purdue University Northwest is a proud supporter and we were informed that Better World Books made a donation of $10,000 to the Texas Library Association’s Disaster Relief fund in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.
Did you know we have a free service for current PNW students, staff, and faculty to borrow books and get photocopies of articles and/or book chapters that are owned by other libraries? If the PNW Libraries do not own the items you need for your research, we invite you to use this service. It’s a onetime set up and you can use this service for the duration of your time here with Purdue University Northwest.
What is Inter-Campus Transfer? It is another free service the PNW Libraries provide to all students, faculty, and staff. If you need material from either campus, instead of driving or taking the bus, you can request the library materials from any computer and we will take care of the rest. If you are unable to use a computer, you are welcome to call us or stop in any time.
